Dave and Kelsy are the fairytale couple come to life. Dave is a construction worker raised in Long Island, New York. Kelsy, currently a stay at home mom, born and raised here in Edmonton. They met while working on an online talk radio show. Kelsy was a co-host, Dave was a regular caller that soon became the NY correspondent. They worked together daily and soon found themselves unable to go a day without speaking. In June of 2012 after many trips back and forth to see each other, many tears and the realization that a long distance relationship was near impossible to handle emotionally, he proposed.
Instead of having the generic engagement photos/wedding they decided that they didn’t want to fit on that bandwagon. Trying to think of a fun way to take photos and plan a wedding that wouldn’t be the ‘same’ as the others they chose to go with Alice in Wonderland. A theme that had more to do with the fun that could come out of it instead of a personal love for the show/theme. Something different and hugely fun.
Mad Hatter came to mind and Dave liked Victorian era weddings, so why not combine the two? This will not only look amazing and hopefully unique but there is so much fun to be had from this theme whether it be with hats and props for guests to play with or the decorations and thank you gifts.
For the wedding planning the theme will in a way be brought forward. Instead of a hugely colourful almost vintage 50’s feel the couple will be creating what we can best describe as a hybrid of a Victorian garden party and a mad hatter tea party.
The wedding date is set for July to take advantage of the beautiful gardens as well as the river valley here in Edmonton. Edmonton Wedding is looking forward to seeing and sharing with you their wedding photos hopefully!
