Popcorn Favors

DIY Popcorn Favors - The Popcorn ShoppeI always like to come up with something different and with a bit of a personal touch which is why today’s blog is showcasing an amazing local business and giving you this super cute DIY popcorn favors.

I recently have gotten into popcorn again thanks to my parents, and I am not talking just popcorn from the grocery store that pops in a microwave. I am talking about fresh popped popcorn made with special oil and seasoning popped in a hand mixer on the stove or in my cute little popcorn popper. So to stock my popcorn family up with the good stuff I went to THE Edmonton popcorn store The Popcorn Shoppe, where I discovered some seriously fun coloured and flavoured popcorn.

The Popcorn Shoppe

Bryan Cardwell the owner of The Popcorn Shoppe was telling me that they can make any flavour and any colour of popcorn. They have done over 100 weddings and love to work with brides to create their custom combination. Just because your wedding colours are blue doesn’t mean you have to have the blueberry flavour, you can choose ANY flavour. And it tastes just like that flavour!

The Popcorn Shoppe is a hidden gem that needs to be checked out!

Create Your Own DIY Popcorn Favors!

DIY Popcorn FavorsThis DIY Popcorn Favors are really easy to create and could make a great bridal party activity.

DIY Popcorn Favors

– Mason Jar (I used a small one)
– Ribbon In Your Colours
– Popcorn From The Popcorn Shoppe
– Grommet (optional)
– Grommet Stamper (from Michaels)
– Thank You Tag

DIY Popcorn FavorsThe Popcorn I picked with blueberry flavoured because it looked pretty and I knew it would show well for my DIY Favors!
I sampled pretty well everything to make sure it was delicious and believe me it was!

DIY Popcorn FavorsFill your mason jar as full as you would like with the popcorn.

DIY Popcorn FavorsI used this really cute tag that said Thank You but you could create your own with your names and wedding date. But if you don’t have the time or craftiness to create your own you can use the same one I did from The Little Canopy. They provide this printable for you to print off and it comes in 6 different colour options.

This next step as I said is optional. You can either just punch a hole and put the ribbon right through that or you can add the grommet. There are two reasons I like the grommet. 1. Because it is pretty and 2. because it makes sure the paper doesn’t break which probably will happen in transit from your home to the venue.

DIY Popcorn FavorsPut the grommet into the thank you tag and stamp it down.
I used a set I got from Michaels forever ago to stamp down the grommet.

DIY Popcorn FavorsTie the ribbon around and attach the thank you tag. I wrapped the ribbon around a few times because it looked very pretty.

Hope you enjoyed today’s blog!

Great idea and so easy to do. Everyone likes popcorn, so that is a favor that won’t go to waste. Thanks for the heads up on the grommet stamper, too. Gotta get one of those.

You can NOT go wrong with popcorn! It’s a perfect snack, then you combine it with the sweetness of the coatings, heaven! Love this idea – especially for the “salty dog” in me – I’m not much of a sweets person. šŸ™‚
