Purple Wedding With Gold Accents

Edmonton Wedding Planner - Purple and gold wedding

Last week we shared with you the first tablescape for our Breakfast Television segments, the Garden Inspired Wedding that was Pink, Yellow and a Little Sparkle, this week we are going to show you the second tablescape which was a romantic purple wedding with gold accents.

What I loved about this decor is it really played up the romance, the flowers were not the usual centrepieces, the candles were at different levels with floating candles and the gold brought in such a rich look. When talking about the centrepieces not being the usual centrepiece you see at a wedding I want you to think back to every centrepiece you have ever seen. Typically they are a clear vase filled with flowers and pretty symmetrical. Now look at these arrangements… We used two vases at different heights to create dimension but look close at the arrangements… Do you see the bark? Did you notice the height that was added on top of the vases? Did they make you feel anything? For me I can feel the romance, maybe a castle wedding, earthy but still very glamourous. I’m not saying that the clear vase filled with flowers can’t do that, but it gives you a different feeling… for me that type of arrangement is romantic, perfect and to be adored. Did you know that what you put into a wedding can create a feeling?

Now off the flowers and lets move onto the candles. Adding lots of candles to your wedding decor can really bring in the romance. I recommend adding in a little flower detailing to add a little more dimension to the table rather than just candles. And think about how the candles are going to look on the table… sometimes 3 candles aren’t enough for a very large table so we used 3 on either side and at different heights but also not too many because there needs to be room for all that comes with the meal.

This purple wedding was also all about layers and adding richness so the charger with two layers of plates were used, topped with a beautiful mini cake. The backdrop was even layered with white sheer, purple lighting and these beautiful swirling panels. Which by the way were a DIY that I will share with you at a later date.

If you missed the segment on Breakfast Television here is the showcase followed by all the close up photos! Enjoy!

I love how you gave a nod to Pantone’s color of the year (radiant orchid) and incorporated parts of the roaring 20’s trends with the gold. Great job!

This is gorgeous and a fabulous use of color and texture. It just pops and oozes romantic chic. I need to hear about that DIY project. I have seen the filigree panels in black and really want them in white.
