Real Wedding – Steve + Karon

Real Wedding - Love love love this wedding! succulents, paper flower wall, peach, mint, diyTodays real wedding is one that I absolutely love! The colours, the decor, the dress, the cakes, everything is picture perfect! I cannot tell you how much I seriously loved this wedding and had to share it with you immediately!

“People always ask us how we met and are surprised to hear that we met at a nightclub. Well, in the line up waiting to get into the club, actually. It was there that a friend asked Steve, who was in front of us, to take a photo of our group. He took the photo and then chatted with all of us for a little bit before he went inside. Once I got into the club Steve looked for me and we started talking. He was a nice, friendly guy and a great dancer so when he asked for my phone number (saying that he needed to get my number right away because his phone was dying) I didn’t hesitate. He called me the next day. A few days later we went on our first date and six years later we are happily married.

Steve and I work well together as a couple because we can always find laughter and joy in our relationship. We may argue once in a while but at the end of the day we know that we can trust each other and talk things through. He is my best friend and the person I can always rely on to cheer me up and bring a smile to my face.

We started planning the wedding shortly after we got engaged in June of 2012. Steve worked in catering when he was in university so, unlike a lot of grooms, he had a few ideas of what he wanted for our wedding and was very involved in the planning. Although Lily from Divine Décor did a fantastic job with the centerpieces and most of the decorating on the day of the wedding, I still put in a lot of time working on DIY projects.
Amongst the most time consuming of these projects were our invitations, programs and other paper products, which I designed and put together myself, a giant paper flower backdrop that I made for the head table, and the cakes which I made with the help of my very talented mother. The days leading up to the wedding were busy and at times stressful but it was all worth it. Our wedding day was a fantastic celebration with our friends and family. Even the weather cooperated! My favourite moment of the day was definitely when we read our vows. We both also loved walking into the reception and seeing all of friends and family gathered in the beautifully decorated room.
Our Photographer Barbara is a true professional and a natural at her craft. With her friendly demeanor and smile, she made everyone feel comfortable and beautiful in front of the camera. Our wedding party, some of whom are a little camera shy, actually had fun during the photo session! Barbara was everywhere, capturing images from all angles, and yet, at no point did it feel like she was in the way or intrusive.
Barbara is creative and has a great eye for stylish yet natural images. Her photographs are breathtakingly beautiful and romantic, never campy or embarrassing. We are so impressed with the quality and beauty of her work. Her images look like they are straight out of a magazine!

We are so happy with our choice of photographer.”

It’s really a nice wedding. We love your idea of the paper flower backdrop and wonder how you could attach the paper flowers to the backdrop, by gluing or else.

Please share your great information. Really appreciate it.

It wasn’t my wedding that I did but I have created flower walls before and I found a hot glue gun worked perfectly!
