Edmonton Wedding is all about being an inspiration and featuring amazing businesses that you should definitely know more about! Today we are going to feature Edmonton Wedding Invitations designer Pinkpolka Invitations & Stationery. This is a company that really inspires me, loves what they do and creates great wedding invitations.
Jenelle like me also believes that design should touch every aspect of your wedding. From the invitations to the flowers to the decor to the menu cards. Everything should be customized to suit you and your perfect day! After all this day is just for you and your love.
When it comes to “custom” that can be a scary word… It opens up a whole world of possibilities that can be a little overwhelming, possibly pricey, maybe give you some options you never thought of before and personal. I think of “custom” as a dream chance to get exactly what you want… even if you don’t know what that is in the beginning. When working with experts like Jenelle at Pinkpolka design you have someone who knows stationary, knows fonts, colours, paper stock and what goes well with what. You get experience and knowledge in an area that helps you create that perfect “custom” wedding invitation.
It is also important to get all your questions answered and since I am showcasing Pinkpolka Invitations & Stationary today it is the perfect opportunity to ask plenty of questions!
Q. What is the process for ordering custom wedding invitations?
A. Our typical process is as follows: consultation; estimate; deposit & contract; initial concepts; feedback & refinement; digital proofs; approval; production; and delivery. During the initial consultation we discuss the vision for your wedding: colours, visual elements needed, deadlines, and quantities. We can meet both in-person at our Edmonton office or by phone and Skype. We’ll look at samples and determine preferences of format, style, and paper.
Q. What would you like for the wedding couple to bring to the first consultation?
A. Couples are welcome to bring any inspiration they may have, but are not required to.
Q. What is the turn around time for custom wedding invitations vs. your 2014 collection?
A. Depending on the time of season and current bookings our timelines can fluctuate. Generally, it is 6-8 weeks for custom and 4-6 weeks for our collection designs.
Q. Do my invitations come assembled?
A. Most of our invitation suites come assembled, but some clients do choose to save money and do it themselves.
Q. Are you able to design eco-friendly invitations?
A. Majority of our paper is FSC certified (http://www.ca.fsc.org/). Aside from that, there are numerous ways to decrease the environmental impact of your invitations such as using a phone and email for rsvp and using a wedding website to avoid multiple inserts.
Q. When should my wedding invitations be sent out?
A. For local guests the invitations should be mailed 6-8 weeks in advance. For out-of-town or destination weddings invitations should be mailed 3-4 months in advance. I would suggest sending a save-the-date at least a year to 8 months in advance for any long-haul destination weddings.
Q. What are the top trends for 2014 wedding invitations?
A. This year I’ve noticed A LOT of gold, glitter, and bling. A sophisticated elegance is really popular. Another stylistic feature is the hand-drawn and calligraphy typography.
Q. What are you dying to create for a couple?
A. I would really like to create an etched acrylic or wood invitation.
