Barbara is such a sweet photographer to work with and brings such an energy to a photo shoot! Her creative eye catches every detail and creates something beautiful. I was recently able to sit down with Barbara and asked her all the questions that you as brides want to know! Enjoy!
“I absolutely love photojournalism and fine art photography. I will say my style is a good mix of both.”
How many weddings do you shoot in a single day?
“Only one, no matter how short the event may be. I try my best to only book events with at least two days apart.”
Do you have insurance and back up gear? Do you bring your own lighting?
“Yes & Absolutely, whenever possible I visit the venue in advance to bring the correct and suitable lighting equipment”
Can I request certain images are taken at the wedding?
“During consultation we go over the wedding timeline and talk about the couples needs request and expectations. Each wedding is such a unique event and I do my best to fit in images request through out the day.”
How many hours are included in your package?
“Since weddings are so particular to each couple and their celebration. I have a few different packages to suit most needs. Story telling is best when choosing all day coverage.”
Do you bring a second photographer?
“I offer both options. I strongly believe in the power of full coverage and two sets of eyes cover more then one.”
How many images can I expect to see from my wedding?
“It varies. There are so many factors to consider like ceremony, reception length and hours coverage requested. You could look at anything between 500 to 1200 edited ready to print images.”
Do you have a limit to the amount of images you will be editing?
“No , I offer and deliver a finished product.”
How long does it take to see the proofs from my wedding?
“Within two weeks of the event the couples will receive a teaser of about 10-15 images. Final images are deliver within 16 weeks.”
How much are prints or do I need to order them?
“I offer a variety of printed products starting at $37“
Do you work internationally and where would be your dream destination wedding?
“I would absolutely love to shoot some kind of elopement and smaller intimate weddings in so many places but if I had t pick I would say maybe Eastern Island, New Zealand, Bali, Iceland or Kenya…ah and Cambodia!!’
How do you make the bride and groom, bridal party and others feel relaxed and at ease in front of your camera?
“I treat my clients as friends, I am funny and make jokes, which are normally really bad but it gets the wedding parties to laugh, that usually carries over into the images. Being just myself smiling plenty and always being ready to be a little silly works wonders. When people know you truly care about them, they naturally open up to you and it shows in the images.”
What advice would you give to couples planning their wedding day?
“Plan in advance whenever possible, no matter how big or small your wedding will be. Think about your guest’s experience. It is a day to share and celebrate. Hire professionals, let them do what they do best and enjoy the day to the fullest with no stress and zero regrets!!”
Barbara also focuses on women’s boudoir studio photography!
“I like to capture each woman’s own intimate side in a beautiful and tasteful way. My boudoir photography is tantalizing, sensual and with a touch of fine art. For me Boudoir is more then just a photography session, it is about giving each woman I get to work with a priceless insight at how beautiful she is through gorgeous images. For sure a lifetime treasure. I believe that we are beautiful just how we are, and it’s my job to show you exactly what makes you beautiful. The best part of my job is getting to know women from all walk of life and cherish what makes each one of them so unique. I love to travel and I am very lucky to say I have photographed sessions all over the map. My favorite places to shoot boudoir sessions are in Vancouver, Seattle, New York, Chile, Spain, France, Italy and Germany, I know what you may be thinking and yes I have shot in all of these amazing places. I am available for travel worldwide, and of course locally. No matter where you are I would love to photograph you. “
